Through innovation and research, specialized equipment has been developed that makes the packing process easier, faster, and more efficient. This new innovative process envelopes a pallet in a coating of plastic that tightly and securely holds products in place, preventing loss or shifting.

The basic function of a stretch wrap machine is to automatically encase and wrap a pallet in stretch wrap. The process serves the multiple functions of keeping the product from shifting or falling and protects it from damage during shipping. Of the many varieties, turntable, rotary arm, and horizontal are the most common types. A turntable wrapping machine has a flat round platform that rotates. As the table turns with the pallet on it, the stretch film is applied from a dispenser. The turntable method tightly seals the pallet by stretching the wrapping around.
Rotary arm stretch wrapping uses the same principle as the turntable method. Instead of the pallet being rotated on a platform, a rotary arm applies the stretch material as it moves around the pallet. The outcome of the process is much like that of the turntable method and forms a very tight and secure seal. The horizontal wrapping method is similar to placing small products in a bag. The stretch film is dispensed by a huge ring that envelopes the pallet by moving down from above it. Horizontal wrapping is an ideal method for completely packaging the pallet with a plastic coating.
