Machine Tool Builders, Inc. (MTB) specializes in rebuilding, recontroling and servicing gear production machinery, including gear shapers, hobbers and gear grinders. Established in 1995 in Machesney Park, Illinois, MTB has become a leading resource for the gear industry, restoring legacy machines from builders such as Fellows, Lorenz and Hofler to like-new condition.
A full MTB rebuild leaves nothing untouched. Every mechanical component is inspected, then repaired or replaced; hydraulic lines and electrical wiring are renewed; and a modern CNC control is installed and tuned for peak performance. For machines with sound mechanics, an MTB recontrol upgrades the controls and drives while preserving the machine's proven structure.
